Findinger ("we", "us") is a dating app. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it in plain language on purpose.

1. Information we collect

Account details: your email address and a password (stored in encrypted form).
Profile details you provide: name, age, gender, city, bio, photos, height, and dating preferences (such as who you're interested in and what you value in a partner).
Activity in the app: likes you send and receive, matches, and messages you exchange with matches.
Reports and support requests: if you report someone, block someone, or contact support, we keep that message.

We do not collect your precise GPS location — your city is what you enter yourself. We do not collect payment information (the app is free).

2. How we use your information

To show your profile to other users as part of the dating experience.
To deliver your messages to your matches.
To keep the community safe — reviewing reports and enforcing our Terms.
To respond when you contact support.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show third-party advertising.

3. Who can see your information

Other users see your profile (name, age, city, photos, bio, height, and preferences) as part of discovery and matching. Your email is never shown to other users.
Our service providers: your data is stored securely with Supabase, our cloud database and authentication provider.
Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required by law.

4. Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time from inside the app (Profile → Pause or delete my account). Deletion is immediate: your profile details, photos, email and pending likes are permanently erased, and the account can never be used to sign in again.

Important: messages you have already sent to other people remain in those people's chat history after you delete your account (shown as coming from a deleted user), similar to how WhatsApp or iMessage work — deleting your account does not remove your messages from someone else's phone. Everything else about you is erased.

You can also pause your account instead — this hides you from the app until you sign back in, without deleting anything.

5. How long we keep information

We keep your information while your account exists. If you delete your account, we erase it as described above. Reports and support messages may be kept for safety and record-keeping purposes.

6. Security

Your data is protected with industry-standard measures: encrypted connections (HTTPS), encrypted password storage, and database access rules that ensure users can only access data meant for them.

7. Age requirement

Findinger is only for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to create an account.

8. Changes to this policy

If we make meaningful changes, we will update this page and the effective date above.
